Listen friends, this is a unique block because if we are honest, this block entails just a little bit of organized chaos. I'm going to talk it through here but then ask that you please study your maps because they will help make the plan extra clear.

You are block 16. And because your entry point for Block 16 would NORMALLY be S. Jennings Avenue where this year's ArtsGoggle Main Stage is set-up in the middle of the street, you're going to have to arrive via a detour.

Blocks 16, 17, and 18 will all share one entry street and one exit street due to lacking entry and exit streets on your individual blocks. All 140 cars from these blocks will exit on Grainger Street (which also serves as the Block 15 entry street). Yeah, gulp. It's a biggie.

We have staggered the arrival and departure times for Blocks 16, 17, and 18 to avoid a crush of 140 cars entering and exiting at the same time but....it'll still be tricky. So we are warning you in advance your arrival plan is handling a lot of traffic and it may require your patience.

We have LOTS of volunteers assigned to this block to help handle the traffic. We have superstar Near Southside staff members running the show here.

Your arrival street St. Louis Avenue - either north of south depending on your arrival group - will surely be busy.

Your departure street Grainger Street is narrow,
and it is fielding 140 exiting cars from Blocks 16-18 and 40 entering cars for your Block 15 set up.

If you arrive and things are tight, stressful, backed-up, a little harrowing...it'll be okay. Take a deep breath and remain patient and let us do our best to clear the street for your entry, set-up and exit. We will make sure that you get into your block. It'll just require your patience.

ARRIVAL & SET-UP

SET-UP TIMES

Because of the high volume of car traffic set up will entail, we will be staggering the ARTIST ARRIVAL TIMES in two groups. Please understand that despite your arrival time or your arrival order SPONSOR AND FOOD TENTS have a guarantee to the endcaps they are promised and as they are shown on the map. That means that if a sponsor tent is a bit behind in setting up they will still have the ability to set up on the ends. Please refer to your maps accordingly.

ARRIVAL GROUPS

BLOCK SPONSORS AND EARLY FOOD VENDORS arrive to set up on street first
Sponsors tents are represented as yellow boxes on the site maps.
Food vendors are represented as green boxes on the site maps.

GROUP A ARTISTS arrive to set-up.
Group A artists are represented as blue boxes on the site maps.

GROUP B ARTIST arrive to set-up
Group B artists are represented as sage green boxes on the map

Late arrival assignments such as east end-cap vendors and sponsors
As shown on the map

MAPS ARE 'UPSIDE DOWN'

You will enter from Rosedale, driving south towards Magnolia Avenue

The maps are oriented the way your car will be oriented.

All the maps have south at the top of the page and north at the bottom of the page.

This may feel odd to look at now but when you are driving you will be looking at the map in the very same direction you are pointed in your car. The example maps that we will share here explain how to arrive and what the street will look like to you AS YOU ARRIVE. The maps are facing the same direction (facing south) that your car will be facing (facing south) as you arrive. This is similar to the way that your Apple Map or Google Map will automatically orient itself as you drive, these maps are intentionally oriented to your driving view.

If you are a group B artist

you will end up driving down Hemphill, turning left onto Felix Gwozdz and turning back to the north to arrive via St. Louis. Maps won't be quite right for you but just turn them around to face north again please.

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE FOR YOUR BLOCK

There is a lot to take note of for these blocks, and the maps are the best tools to understanding all of the unique arrivals and set-up needs for Blocks 16 through 18. However, I will try to explain a few of the finer points here below:

  • Blocks 16, 17 and 18 Group A artists will all arrive from the SOUTH TURNING NORTH ONTO YOUR ARRIVAL STREET. The preferred arrival pattern is for those artists to take W. Rosedale Blvd to turn south Hemphill Street and south, passing Magnolia Avenue by one block. From Hemphill turn left (east) onto Felix Gwozdz Place. From Felix turn left again (north) onto S. Louis Avenue.

  • Blocks 16, 17, and 18 Group A artists have a staggered arrival time to help ease congestion of three blocks of artists arriving all at the same time. Please monitor your block assignment for your arrival time and try hard not to deviate (arriving any earlier or any later) than your assigned time please.

  • Blocks 16, 17, and 18 Group B artists will arrive from the NORTH TURNING SOUTH ONTO YOUR ARRIVAL STREET. The preferred arrival pattern is to take W. Rosedale Blvd, turning south onto St. Louis Avenue and driving until you reach the W. Magnolia Avenue barricade. This is the traditional arrival plan that all other artists use (Rosedale driving on your arrival street to Magnolia)
  • BLOCK 16 SPONSOR - Topo Chico is the sponsor for Block 16 and will arrive as the LAST TENT in the Block 16 Group B arrivals. Instead of following the artist traffic flow, Topo Chico has been given exclusive permission to arrive using S. Jennings, behind the ArtsGoggle Main Stage, parking their Topo Chico supplies van on the on street parking space behind the stage in the band loading zone. This will take careful coordination with the ArtsGoggle Main Stage manager Tony Diaz. Please coordinate directly with him for arrival. Artists in Block 16 Group B, please know that no matter what time Topo Chico arrives they are entitled to the east end-cap of Block 16.

  • BLOCK 17 SPONSOR - Town Talk Foods will set up as the first tent 10'x20' of Block 17 and so it is critical that they arrive with some extra time to allow them to get into place to start the Block 17 spacing and flow. Town Talk, if possible please still arrive at 7:00am for your set-up. Even if Town Talk Foods arrives late (and hoping that they will not) they are entitled to the Block 17 WEST end-cap.

  • BLOCK 16 FOOD COURT VENDORS 7:00 AM ARRIVAL - Salmark BBQ (tent), Las Mochicas (truck), Nad's Falafel (trailer), 3F Premier (trailer) it is requested that you please arrive EARLY if possible to ensure your correct set-up and avoid any of the complications that artist traffic will entail when artist cars begin to show up at 7:30am. Your early arrival ensures your smooth arrival. You are welcome to set-up and take a break (grabbing breakfast or something nearby if you need). See maps for your exact arrival patterns and assignments.

  • BLOCK 16 OL' FASHIONED LEMON SHAKERS - You will arrive using your own unique arrival map, bringing you through the south of the neighborhood. You will take Rosedale Street to Hemphill Street and turn south. Traveling south you will turn left (east) onto Felix Gwozdz - this is the same arrival pattern that Group A artists are taking to arrive. HOWEVER you will deviate from their path by turning LEFT (north) onto S. Jennings Street and pulling all the way forward to the S. Jennings and Magnolia Avenue barricade where you will set up just about 5' to 10' feet south of Magnolia Avenue in the S. Jennings Avenue intersection. You are the only vendor in this intersection so make yourself at home. Remember, a City of of Fort Worth heavy blockage vehicle will arrive at noon to pull into place behind you on S. Jennings to protect you and the Magnolia crowds. I recommend a 10:00am arrival but as you are the only thing happening in this area you are welcome to arrive earlier or later as you see fit - just no access will be allowed after 11:45am when the city of Fort Worth dump truck is expected to take its place.

  • BLOCK 16 GROUP B FIRST VENDOR TO ARRIVE IS CHRISTOPHER MORRIS IN AN AIRSTEAM TRAILER - Chris this is the same plan that you always have for ArtsGoggle, however there is a bit more chaos behind you. Arrive early if you'd like to ensure you clean and clear arrival path. You will occupy the first two booth spaces of the street.

  • LOOT RENTALS FURNITURE DELIVERY ON S. JENNINGS AVENUE - Loot will arrive early, 7:00am, using their own arrival maps allowing them to pull directly onto S. Jennings Avenue (same as band arrivals and Topo Chico arrivals) so that their furniture delivery box truck can park behind the stage to unload all of our beautiful rented furniture for the MCI Plaza and front of stage listening area. They will hopefully be able to unload and depart before any band arrivals begin and possibly even before Topo Chico arrives for their late set-up.

  • BAND ARRIVALS FOR THE ARTSGOGGLE MAIN STAGE ON S. JENNINGS AVENUE - Bands and all stage contractors for lights, sound and so forth will arrive on S. Jennings Avenue coming from Rosedale and driving south onto S. Jennings. They vendors must all share the small loading zone area behind the stage during set-up times and are asking to be courtesy and collaborative with Loots Rentals and Topo Chico who are also assigned this area for unloading. Musicians perform every hour on the hour from noon to 10pm, with load in times assigned approximately 45 minutes prior to their performance time.

  • FOOD VENDOR ARRIVALS FOR MCI PLAZA AND U-SHAPED DRIVEWAY AREA - Friends, we will be honest that you have one of the more complicated plans but there is a "make easy" route that is also proposed for you. If you would like to bring your car directly to your tented area to unload in the u-shaped driveway you are encouraged to arrive early at 7:00am to drive only Magnolia Avenue before an artist cars arrive. They arrive beginning at 7:30am. If you do this, you should have clear access to turn right (west) onto Magnolia from St. Louis Avenue and then drive down to the MCI Plaza u-shaped driveway, pull your car near your assigned tent space, unload, and then come back to set-up. However there are 12 of you doing this and the driveway is not large enough for cars to pass each other so you must use thoughtful consideration of your neighbors and make a plan to quickly drop all your items, go park, and come back for your complete set-up. I think this plans works but it one that requires speed and patience. The ALTERNATE PLAN is that you can arrive by Rosedale, turning south onto St. Louis Avenue (as you normally would) and then just before arriving to Magnolia you can pull off the street into the EAST PARKING LOT of the Moncrief Cancer Institute which should allow you to park your car in this area as fairly close-by parking to your assigned set-up. You would need to carry your items to your space but it would ease the crush of vendor street and timing and allow you a slow and uncomplicated process to set-up as your own pace. You can leave your car parked in this EAST parking lot all day. THE EAST LOT IS ACCESSIBLE OFF OF ST. LOUIS AVENUE. Please make sure to note you CANNOT USE THE WEST LOT THAT IS ACCESSIBLE OFF OF S. JENNINGS. The MCI Cancer Screening vans will maintain exclusive use of that parking lot which is beside our stage area because they must access power to keep the mobile screening units inside the large buses charged for events that they will be juggling off site on ArtsGoggle day.

  • NO ONE - NO EXCEPTIONS - IS ALLOWED TO USE THE PARKING LOT ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE MONCRIEF CANCER INSTITUTE. The stage location is on the private property of Moncrief Cancer Institute, our Main Stage sponsor. The parking lot on the western side of the Moncrief Cancer Institute campus (the area closest to the stage) is unfortunately unavailable to us on ArtsGoggle day because the MCI team will be using their mobile cancer screening buses (tour bus sized vehicles) for other events off campus. This parking lot area is the only area that the buses can park and access power to charge their cancer screening equipment so it is critical that we not park in that parking lot and that we do not block access. The MCI screening buses will come and go throughout ArtsGoggle and they have priority for street and parking lot access. You will see these aren’t noted on the map as “Blocked - Not Available to Use” However, in good news, all other parking at Moncrief Cancer Institute is available to us to use and after unloading your equipment you should be able to access nearby parking
