ANNOUNCING THE 2025 ArtsGoggle FEATURED ARTIST - Mel Walker!

We first spotted Mel at our first post-pandemic ArtsGoggle as we all tiptoed back out into the world. Her whimsical representation of childhood toys and colors felt like the perfect nostalgia for a moment when everyone needed a smile. Since then, Mel’s been a regular participant of many Near Southside community art events including Third Thursday, Liberty Lowdown, FWADA Gallery Night and more. She’s a fixture in Fort Worth’s art scene and a really nice person to boot. Mel’s work captures both the magic and weirdness of being young, and we love how her primary colors and sad eyes both find themselves at home in familiar shapes and Gen X references. Get ready for a 1980's fever dream as we roll out a 2025 ArtsGoggle inspired by Mel Walker on Saturday, October 11, 2025 presented by Frost!

Mel Walker is a Fort Worth-based artist whose whimsical, character-driven art blends nostalgia and emotional honesty. This is her third year at ArtsGoggle, where she shares work inspired by childhood memories, mental health, and healing through creativity. Her cute yet emotionally deep characters allow her to process heavy feelings in a vulnerable, playful way—offering comfort, connection, and joy.
